We got three different cards for this review; a reference clocked Club3D, and two overclocked ones. The first one is Gainward?s 9600GT Golden Sample, and the second is Zotac 9600GT AMP! Here's what these babies look like, with packaging:

As we mentioned earlier, the Club3D card operates at 650/1625/900 MHz, Gainward?s at 700/1750/1025 and ZOTAC?s at 725/1750/1000. Although we are used to seeing Gainward?s cards with custom PCBs right at launch, this time they have put a custom cooler on a reference card, with custom models coming out later. Gainward?s cooler is more efficient than the reference one, and even with an increased heat from the raised clocks remains the coolest card of the three, with an overclocked ZOTAC being the hottest.

To benchmark the cards, we used our standard testbed:
- ASUS P5N-T 780i SLI motherboard
- Intel E6700 CPU
- OCZ PC2-8000 Platinum XTC @ 800MHz 4-4-4-12
- Western Digital RaptorX 150 GB
- PC Power&Cooling Turbo-Cool 1KW-SR

We benchmarked two resolutions, 1280x1024 and 1680x1050, with 4xAA and 16xAF settings turned on and off.
