Peak Radeon 3870 review - Testing setup

The main competition of the Radeon 3870 is the NVIDIA 9600GT, with 8800GT 256 and 8800GS not being very common in the stores. From our previous experience, the 8800GT 512 performs better in every scenario.

We used our standard testbed:
- Intel Core 2 Quad QX9650
- ASUS P5N-T 780i SLI
- OCZ PC2-6400 Flex XLC 3-4-4-15
- PC Power & Cooling Turbo Cool 1KW-SR
- Western Digital RaptorX 150GB WD1500AHFD

We used only one resolution, 1680x1050 for our benchmarks, except in Crysis which was using 1440x900 because of the extra stress it puts on the card.
